[center]I find being yourself helps.

Smile, be friendly, Shake hands and introduce yourself.

Try and interact with the children as soon as you can. without seeming to rude when parents are around (not good ignoring someone when they want to chat or asking questions)

Have lots of eye contact. be honest and open with them. tell the parents when chatting something about you. something about your live which would be relevant in conversation. Talk about your qualifications, experience and say if you are crb checked or have first aid. (parents like to know how qualified you are and that you have experiece)

Try to find out about the children. dislikes and likes, hobbies and interests, what their favourite tv programme's are. talk and make conversations to them. or interact at their level if babies.

It is also important to ask if children have any allergies, anything they can have or not have before bedtime. and also if young then if the child or children have a comforter!

Hope this helps! smiley

Hi Charlotte.

Have you heard of gumtree? www.gumtree.co.uk I think. You can advertise free on there and also I am on www.childcare.co.uk
this is also a website you can advertise on. Although I have a yearly subscribtion to be contacted and to contact clients much easier through.

I have also found facebook a good way of a gentle advertisement now and again

Hope this helps you let me know if you get any luck! x
