Additional Info:

My name is Lucie and I am 28 years old. My family is very important to me.

I like spending time with my family or my friends. I am open, dedicated, hardworking, reliable, patient and a friendly person. I love children. I love playing and talking with them and taking them for walks. I like people who like to laugh. That is one of the reasons why I love working with children. They are spontaneous and fun. I like their curiosity and courage, their playfulness and wit.

* working as a cleaner (a housekeeper) and as a crèche helper for another woman from May 2004 to October 2005. My responsibility was to do housework. I helped keeping the house clean one afternoon a week

I love a child’s and children’s present. I used to take the children to the music class, to the art class, to their playgroup, to the library, to the swimming pool, to the local city animal farm or just go to say HI to horses! We loved being together in the garden, being outside! We would do lots of activities there (from running and hiding to sliding etc.). We would go on a picnic, spend our time on the playground or go to the park. In the playroom, we liked to talk and listen to each other and we used to read a lot. We loved to color, draw or paint, listen to our own made up stories, listen to the children’s tapes and sing to them or dance, try new activities, watch the puppet show, we dressed up and laughed, we enjoyed one another’s company, being and playing together, sharing things, we also loved our cooking and bathing together; reading books aloud and doing our (their) homework sent from school.

I have accompanied my host family on various kinds of holidays, and even moved home with the family.

I’ve looked after children ranging in ages from six months old to eight. I’ve had a lot of opportunities to experienced taking care of many kinds of children at almost all stages and I’m not meeting these challenges for the first time.

Upon my arrival to the USA, I participated in a 5-day workshop in New York City. At the workshop I received no less than 32 hours of instruction of which 24 hours are in child development (of which no less than 4 hours are infant related) and 8 hours in child safety (of which no less than 4 hours are infant related).

During my stay in England I used to go to school and I took and passed the Preliminary English Test in June 2004 and the First Certificate in English in June 2005.

During my stay in the USA I have attended at least 72 hours of instruction in English in the College's ESL class and also at least 16 hours of ESL Childcare class. I have also taken an Early Childhood Education and Care course at a local college.

As for my hobbies, I love sports such as cycling, running, skating and I walk too. I usually go swimming in the summer and skiing in the winter, either with my family or friends. I love to learn anything new! I also love traveling. It’s very exciting getting to know different countries and cultures and making friends. Learning foreign languages is fascinating for me, too. I can speak English and would like to study French as well. My other favourite leisure activities are reading books and listening to music. I like going to the theatre and cinema with my family or my friends. My plans for the future, I’d like to gain in experience by working with children, improve my English and have knowledge of another culture.

Thank you for taking the time to review my ad.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,

Lucie
